Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a saucepan, covering with cold water, boiling, then letting them sit off the heat for 12 to 14 minutes.
  2. Prepare an ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and cold water.
  3. Cool the eggs in the ice bath for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Peel the eggs under cold running water.
  5. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and remove yolks into a mixing bowl.
  6. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, sweet pickle relish, salt, and black pepper to the yolks. Mix in optional ingredients if desired.
  7. Mash the yolks and ingredients together until smooth.
  8. Taste the yolk mixture and adjust seasonings.
  9. Fill the egg whites with the creamy yolk mixture.
  10. Garnish with paprika and any other desired toppings.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve the deviled eggs on a platter.
