Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Medium saucepan
  • Piping bag with star tip

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, ½ cup of unsalted butter, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium-high until it reaches a rolling boil and the butter has fully melted. Remove from heat and add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, stirring vigorously until a cohesive dough forms.
  2. Allow the dough to cool for about 5-10 minutes, then incorporate 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough becomes smooth and glossy.
  3. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to enhance the flavor, ensuring it's evenly mixed into the dough.
  4. Fit a piping bag with a large star tip, then fill it with the churro dough. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil spray. Pipe 1-2 inch pieces of dough into the basket, leaving space between each piece.
  6. Air fry the churro bites for 8-12 minutes until golden brown and puffed up. Let them cool for a couple of minutes before coating.
  7. While warm, toss the churro bites in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until generously coated.
  8. Serve your Air Fryer Churro Bites warm, either plain or with your favorite dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel.
