Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add granulated sugar to the mixture, blending until smooth for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then add vanilla extract and mix for another 2 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt for about 1 minute.
  5. Carefully alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the cream cheese mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in any mix-ins like chocolate chips, berries, or nuts.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a muffin tin with liners or grease it lightly.
  8. Spoon batter into each muffin cup, filling them about two-thirds full.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the muffins cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
