Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by bringing a large pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, add a generous pinch of salt and your choice of pasta. Cook according to package instructions, usually 8-12 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add 4-6 minced garlic cloves and stir continuously for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the drained pasta directly into the skillet and toss well in the garlic butter. If it seems dry, add a splash of reserved pasta water and toss for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta, stirring to melt and integrate the cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer to serving plates and garnish with chopped fresh parsley and red pepper flakes.
