Preparation
  1. Begin by chopping the onion and mincing the garlic, setting them aside in a bowl. Rinse and drain the black beans and corn thoroughly.
  2. Place the chicken breasts, onion, garlic, black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and green chiles in the crockpot.
  3. Sprinkle taco seasoning and pour in chicken broth. Ensure everything is spread evenly.
  4. Gently mix the ingredients to ensure the chicken is submerged in the sauce.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours until chicken reaches 165°F.
  6. Shred the cooked chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks.
  7. Mix in the remaining sauce and drizzle lime juice over the mixture.
  8. Warm taco shells as per package instructions if desired.
  9. Assemble tacos by filling each shell with the chicken mixture and sauce.
