Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add cubed beef sirloin and sear for 5-7 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
  2. Lower heat and add chopped onion; sauté for 4-5 minutes until translucent. Then add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and broth. Stir in oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer.
  4. Return the browned beef to the pot, cover, and let simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Bring a separate pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the orzo according to package directions.
  6. Stir cooked orzo into the beef mixture along with heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Mix until creamy.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley and extra Parmesan.
