- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing or lining it.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and espresso powder until smooth.
- Mash bananas and mix them into the banana mixture.
- Gently combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fold in the mashed bananas and buttermilk, ensuring even distribution.
- Add chocolate chips, reserving some for topping, and fold into the batter.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
