Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing or lining it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and espresso powder until smooth.
  4. Mash bananas and mix them into the banana mixture.
  5. Gently combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Fold in the mashed bananas and buttermilk, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Add chocolate chips, reserving some for topping, and fold into the batter.
  8. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
