Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Whip the chilled heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  2. Prepare the mascarpone mixture by combining mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to the mascarpone mixture and stir well.
  4. Fold in the whipped cream gently to maintain airiness.
  5. Chill the mascarpone cream mixture for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  6. Brew one cup of strong coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  7. Optional: Mix in coffee liqueur into the cooled coffee, if desired.
  8. Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the coffee mixture for flavor absorption.
  9. Crush the soaked ladyfingers in a food processor until finely crushed.
  10. Fold the crushed ladyfingers into the chilled mascarpone mixture.
  11. Chill the combined mixture for at least one hour before shaping.
  12. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  13. Dust each ball with unsweetened cocoa powder.
  14. Optional: Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.
  15. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes before serving.
