Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
  5. Fold in the mashed bananas and desired mix-ins. Be careful not to overhandle the batter.
