- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together 0.5 cup of softened unsalted butter, 0.5 cup of granulated sugar, and 0.5 cup of light brown sugar with a hand mixer on medium speed until fluffy.
- Add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Mash 3 large, overripe bananas in a separate bowl until mostly smooth.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredient mixture and the mashed banana mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Gently fold in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle any extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking for doneness with a skewer.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
