Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Lemonade
- Hull 2 cups of fresh, ripe strawberries and place them in a medium saucepan. Sprinkle 1 cup of granulated sugar over the strawberries, stirring well to combine. Let this mixture sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and gently bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the strawberries are soft, carefully pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a heatproof bowl, pressing gently to extract as much syrup as possible.
- Allow the extracted strawberry syrup to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or place it in the refrigerator to speed up the process.
- While the syrup cools, squeeze juice from roughly 8-10 fresh lemons until you have 1½ cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled strawberry syrup, 1½ cups of lemon juice, and 6 cups of cold water. Stir gently to blend the flavors together.
- Cover the pitcher and chill the Strawberry Lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled Strawberry Lemonade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon and a fresh strawberry.
- Enjoy your homemade Strawberry Lemonade with family and friends!
